My first Piece of Architecture

Image
As a kid, I was always attracted and fascinated by art and architecture. I grew up playing with colors and crayons instead of dolls. This is my first piece of architecture, which I made quite a few years back during my summer break. I tried my hand at preparing this out of waste products at home, like leftover cardboard pieces. I always try to use waste products and recycle them for future use. As a kid, I always felt drawn towards beautiful pieces of architecture. So, while playing with cardboard pieces at home, I made this building structure, which can be said to be my dream house at that period of time when I was hardly ten years old.

Suga Shrine

Image
This is a form of digital art inspired by the Suga Shrine, a place in Tokyo, Japan. This place has been featured in various movies and this inspired me to try drawing this in a digital form.

Petals and Bones

Image
I tried my hand at this mixed form of anatomical art where I drew the pelvic bone. I attempted to create a floral design starting from the bone, with two butterflies being attracted to the flowers. This form of art is very intriguing and interesting, something different from other forms of art. It depicts the circle of life, showing that at times even one’s death can nourish another’s life. This symbiotic relationship is what forms the essence of existence.

Tree of Causality

Image
The tree of causality relates to the various branches of life. It depicts the variety of opportunities which lead to doors to various colors of life. The tree here represents our life, and the different branches symbolize the various opportunities and choices leading to different directions in our life.  An introspective analysis of life inspired me to capture the inner meaning of the varieties present in our life and frame it into the "Tree of Causality".

Ulongo Prayer

Image
The word 'Ulongo' is a native Assamese word meaning nude. "Ulongo Prayer" depicts the purity and sanctity in the prayer of a woman in prison. Prison does not merely mean the general prison. The introspective meaning of prison here is the bindings which act as hindrances and barriers in the life of a woman on her path to freedom. I got the inspiration for painting this piece of art by observing and studying the plight of many women who are not fortunate enough in their lives and who move on with a pure prayer in their hearts for freedom. The lady in the painting is praying to God to save her from the sins of the earth, with a strong belief and faith in her heart. This painting is dedicated to the sovereignty of women. The moon here depicts the superpower of God, whose blessings are sought by the woman amidst the barriers of life. It is the strong faith of the woman that God will come and free her from all sins and evils on this earth but is facing many obstacles in the...

2D Representation

Image
This is a two-dimensional representation of the ground floor of my house, featuring the living area and the hall, which is my favorite space where I spend most of my quality time. This area is quite spacious, with sunlight streaming in to brighten the space and impart a fresh, invigorating feel. Additionally, the main doors of our house are located nearby, providing easy access to our garden, a place where I find solace and happiness.

Abstract Art

Image
This is a painting I made during the pandemic with acrylic colors. It can be interpreted by different people in many different ways based on what they see in it.

Self Portrait

Image
This is my self-portrait in oil painting, which I made around six years ago.

The House

Image
This is a pencil sketch of an architectural design of a house. I got the inspiration to draw this design after I saw such a house at a place where I went with my parents.

The Girl

Image
This is a painting of a simple northeastern girl from India, depicting beauty amidst simplicity. I made this painting around four years ago, inspired by a friend of mine.

Hill Scenario

I got inspired to draw this oil painting from a hilly scene in Darjeeling.

The Japanese Lady

Image
This piece of art by me is made using a sketch pen, projecting a beautiful Japanese lady in traditional attire.

Architecture of Assam

Image
This is Ronghor, a famous historical architecture of Assam. My keen interest in drawing this beautiful piece of architecture developed when I visited Sibsagar, Assam, last year along with my parents and my brother. This beautiful piece of architecture, known as the first amphitheater or first pavilion of Asia, was built by an Ahom king, Swargadeo Promotto Singha, in the year 1744 AD. Its shape is octagonal at the base. When I saw Ronghor for the first time, I knew that my pencil needed to fulfill my wish of drawing such a beautiful sketch.

Medieval Architecture

Image
My inspiration for this piece of art trails back to medieval architecture. I have seen many pieces of art from that period of time where most modern amenities and tools were not present. Yet the architecture of that period was so beautiful and intricate, with the use of stones to build the eye-catching architectural designs of various structures, that I felt drawn towards envisaging my passion to draw an architectural structure from the medieval architecture of that period.

The Boat

Image
This is purely a product of my imagination. I always had a craze for drawing and painting, and in my drive to accomplish my passion for drawing, I sometimes sit down in a quiet corner. Automatically, the colors blend together and the strokes of the painting brush produce pieces of art, just like this one named “The Boat”.

Aaita

Image
Aaita is a arterial word meaning grandmother. This piece of traditional architectural art is inspired from our ancestral house which belonged to my grandmother. We can still get to see such houses in the remote areas of Assam. Visit to such places gives me the inspiration to draw such paintings which forms part of my childhood days.

Reflection

Image
I attempted to recreate "The Studio Boat" by Claude Monet, painting it in my own style.

Tune of Nature

Image
As a kid, I grew up in a place full of natural beauty. My family and I sometimes used to travel to places far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was from my visits to such quiet, serene places that I got the inspiration to paint pictures of them on the canvas of my dreams.

The Other Side

Image
This piece of art of mine, the other side reflects the blending of happiness and sadness, which revolves around the life of each and every human being. I got the inspiration to draw this art from the character of a movie, which I saw a few years back. I realized that just like the clown who makes people laugh in spite of himself being sad at heart. Similarly, each and every person sometimes has a smile on their lips, in spite of being sad at heart. With this concept in mind, I tried to express my feelings about life through my painting, brush, and colors, which came out as the finished product, the other side.

Welcome to Anushreya's "World of Colors"

Drawing is not just a hobby for me. It is my passion through which I can explore the intricacies of various forms of art apart from expressing my inner feelings, appreciating the tune of nature along with the craftsmanship of various architectural designs, thus, exploring the vast world of art through the stroke of brushes and colors or pencil shades in a plain sheet of paper or a canvas. While chasing my dreams and passion for drawing and in order to accomplish my desire to be a part of this architectural world, I wish to be enrolled as a student of this great institution to fulfil my dreams and desires. Besides, I have always visited various art exhibitions held at “Artist Guild”, Guwahati, which has enhanced my interest in this regard. The works of the legendary figure Frank Gehry, a Canadian American Architect, who is well known for his architectural works in the industry, has given me much inspiration to become a part of this architectural world. The architectural designs of Mr. F...
